The Participants ~ while everyone was still fresh, and dry . . .

"Aquathon" and "Dam Swim", July 2021 ~

The Triathlon, after a year's hiatus due to the pandemic, was revived this year as the "Aquathon"
at the Clearfield Community Pool. The 3 mile bike ride, always a logistical nightmare, was eliminated
and the footrace and the swim were both doubled to two miles. (Footrace actually 2.2 miles)

Also held annually, the Dam Swim takes place at nearby Curwensville Lake. Two laps around a
roughly triangular, half-mile, course ( 1 mile total ) defined by spotters in canoes and kayaks.
Here the swim takes place in open water so there can be no rest at the end of a lap like at the pool.
As I comment nearly every year, I hope everyone appreciates how lucky we are to have two such
wonderful facilities like the Community Pool and Curwensviile Lake right in our own backyards.
